Reason to be here: It was just one of those thiny fix projects that turn big. Initially it was about changing a background and rearanging of a flash site. He said he did not have the .fla sources and has just .swfs that need to be decompilled. During the initial negotiations he made it seem pretty fast and straight forward project.

OK, the flash was a mess (which could be not his fault). It was not only the background and layout - changes here and there, fixing this and that, practically rewritting about 90% ot it (a patchy gallery engine that has been modified by at least several people who didn't seem to had much of idea what to do). Did I mention the several PHP-s (which I would never take as I lack skills there)? Of course about the 90% of the work was forgotten to be mentioned while the project was till open. The design (that had to be changed too) turned not to be ready - it was a single page, but there are other parts which needed to look different - changes, fixes...
Nothing new - this happens when you stuck to a dodgy person, who has no business web experience. But judging by the websites owned by that person, that person this is not the case. He even offers a website building services and probably even gets some money for them.

OK, I was a bit late (considering the above it is quite normal). But with lots of swearing we got there (at least to the point there were no more changes to be made) and every little issue, bug change request was carried out. He started to ask about the source files, I started to imply about payment and closing the project.

After losing me a month with a 100 USD project (which I expected to take a couple of days), he never paid. Might be my work has been of a terrible quality? No. He (or his client) uses it for half a year already and I can fairly see it online. The guy simple don't wish to pay and do not answer my requests. I would understand if he is broke or have difficulties, but hell - for a 100 bucks he lost both of us a month and half a year playing dumb.

In at least 80% of the cases this means "he did not pay to the previous developer". Avoid projects like these or "I want a clone of...". Clear signs of shady ethics.
