- In dirs you can submit just one link (usually the frontpage). Here you (or your users) can add link to any page. Including all of them. And due to the higher trust and dynamics your linked content gets found and indexed by the search engines much faster.
- You can cultivate your profile and sometimes its PR (which means higher influence for your links too.
- They look and function in a common manner. You could have websites in diverse languages and regions deep-linking to your website.
Second - the social features- You can have friends, network with them and win human trust there, which means additional traffic and influence
- If you post something cool which people like or find interesting, they would vote and share with their friends too, etc. etc. The effect could be lite a tsunami which is a lot a traffic to your website.
Some bloggers get like 2/3 of their traffic via social bookmarks and twitter. If using wisely and keep cool you can live on this. I think that this is generally the most important for webmasters - one of the best free tools you can have to let people know about your website. |
